When Darren Rhodes was 14, he became a Christian and began singing gospel music. At 20 he was performing with Madonna's guitarist, Michael Jackson's programmer and even two of the California Raisins. After experiencing the music business's break-neck tempo while touring with the Continental Singers, he turned down other tour offers to cut his debut-album with Frontline Records. Although, upon its release Rhodes admitted, "I don't think the older people are going to like it," calling his work "non-typical Christian music," he also admitted, "I can see that God had a purpose for me."
